Art Basel Miami Beach – Alternative Education

Recently, The Art Quarterly sponsored a youth photography award.  The winning photographer was awarded an all expense paid weekend at America’s top fine art destination: Art Basel Miami Beach.  The 2016 award was selected from national submissions.  Entries were based on 2 photographs only from each submission.

The 2016 recipient was Denver-based youth photographer, Mr. Nathan Anisimov.   This inspiring young man has had a knack recognized by his close friends, family, and educators through the images previously taken with his iPhone 5.  Nathan, along with his mother, took 2 days off from school and his regular curriculum to be immersed in America’s most admired fairs.   The photos that follow are his submissions on what he found exciting through the lens.  The camera of choice for this young man was the Nikon D3200.
