As a maestro ebbs and flows through his/her painting career, influences emerge that guide the painter.  Sometimes they run astray.  Time usually proves an artist’s ultimate contribution.  Peter Max’s contribution to contemporary fine art has persistently been flamboyant, documented and storied.  His current well-being and the later period works of his name are featured, for better and for worse, by a recent article in the New York Times.  We reserve judgment for his influences vs those characters who surrounded him throughout his journey.
