This summer, collectors nationally, venture to retreats both unique and for some temporary. Whether along the shores or at the highest of altitudes, America’s summer exhibition schedules offer perspective and collections to be desired.
East Coast: New York
If out on the “East End”, take a needed trip to “Beyond The Streets.” The collection of street art includes Kenny Scharf and highlights how Street Art became a collecting and influencing darling for fashion, film, and as a medium. The exhibition continues at Southampton Arts Center through July 20th.
Out West: Colorado
Summer hikes, golf outings, and worthy trail or road rides give way to a spectacular mountain stay in Colorado’s mountains. This summer Aspen has 3 main events for your consideration. The annual Aspen Art Museum’s Art Crush will feature architecture, art, and music honories. As it has become known, Aspen Art Week starts July 30 through August 4th. On the fine art side galleries will feature internationally collected works during the Aspen Art & Design Fair (Aspen Ice Garden) and the newly launched Aspen Art Fair (Hotel Jerome). Denver’s GALLERY M will be featuring the works by Howard Schatz, Pablo Atchugarry, and Robert Frank amongst others at Aspen Art & Design. If at the Aspen Art Fair, Timothy Yarger Fine Art will feature the works by the electric, sculptural, and digital fine artist Mads Christensen.
